Are you a Poet, Storyteller or seasoned Poetry Slammer?
Then we have the weekend for you!
Please read below for competition rules and how to enter
1. Maximum 14 performers (order determined by random draw of poets from the GOODFEST Slam Winner’s Cup)
2. Must be original work
3. Up to 3 minutes from the first word uttered.
4. There will be NO WARNING buzzer/bell or similar
5. No props or aids—just performer, mic and audience
6. 5 judges chosen at random from the audience
7. Scores out of 10 points
8. Top and bottom scores don’t count
9. Middle 3 scores added up, the competitor with the highest total wins
10. $500 and GOODFEST Slam Cup to the winner, $250 to the runner-up

4 heats of 8 performers each drawn randomly pre-event
Top 4 in each heat go through to 2 semifinals of 8 performers each on Sunday afternoon
Top 4 in each semifinal go through to the grand final on Sunday night

Prize Rules
Must be original work
Running order at heats/semis/final will be determined by drawing names from a hat or other receptacle
7 minutes from the first word uttered, with 30 seconds leeway
Exceeding 30 seconds either side of 7 minutes will be penalised
There will be NO WARNING buzzer or bell before completion
No props or aids—just performer, mic and audience
Those going through to semis & finals must not repeat pieces,
so 3 different sets will be requiredJudges will be chosen by Nick and Archie pre-event
Judges’ decisions are final
Winner receives $2500 and a trophy, finalists receive $500 each
