Who are we?
Nick Grivas
Nick Grivas is a poet, performer, MC, and the creator of Liquid Lyrics Poetry Slam, a beloved Sunshine Coast staple since 2019.
Writing poetry since 1988 and performing since 2010, he reached the finals of the Australian Poetry Slam in his first year, and has since built a strong reputation across festivals, schools, workshops, corporate events, and live music gigs.
He has hosted poetry slams and workshops at the Woodford Folk Festival and has also performed there. Nick is also the producer, creator, and star of the poetic stage production Being Human, an exploration of the many shades of the human experience in the modern world. As an MC and performer, he brings warmth, vulnerability, humour, and heart, creating spaces where people feel seen, engaged, inspired, and genuinely connected.
Robin Archbold
Robin Archbold aka Archie is an award-winning poet/storyteller/writer with two Lismore Poetry Cups, the Woodford Poetry Slam, Woodford Original Stories and Yarns Performance Award, and the Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup just some of the accolades gathered over 25 years of spoken word adventures. He’s been a featured artist at national, state and regional festivals, feature artist at the Australian Poetry Slam Final, co-founded the famous Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup in 2003, founded and ran Sunshine Coast Spoken Word in 2012, and is a consummate performance and writing workshop presenter, event organiser and MC. His work traverses the emotional gamut of social satire, love and romance, especially the twisted variety, politics by stealth, tragedy, deep introspection, frivolous antics, and the quirky little peccadillos of the human condition.
